🌟 Where This Qualification Can Take You
The UKSCA Level 3 Strength & Conditioning Trainer Award is a nationally recognised qualification that ensures you are competent to deliver foundational strength and conditioning programmes safely and effectively. This is the same level of qualification as a Level 3 Personal Trainer Award.
With this award, you will be able to:
-
🏋️ Deliver structured S&C sessions in schools, clubs, and community sport environments
-
🩺 Integrate S&C principles into therapy and rehabilitation practice
-
🏉 Support athletes with foundational training across grassroots and performance pathways
-
🎓 Enhance your professional profile with UKSCA recognition and access to further development opportunities
This qualification establishes you as a trusted practitioner for entry‑level and foundational S&C delivery, and provides a platform to progress towards higher‑level UKSCA accreditations.
⚠️ Important distinction:
This award is not the same as becoming a UKSCA Accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach (ASCC). Accreditation requires further study, assessment, and professional experience beyond Level 3. However, this qualification sets you up in a strong (pun intended) position if you wish to pursue this path!

Testimonials
"I have worked with/learnt from Sean in a few capacities over the years. I interned with Sean at the University of Bedfordshire, where he gave me space to explore my coaching approach, whilst giving guidance surrounding work-ons and professional development. This was my first role within strength and conditioning and a process I reflect on to this day when working with young coaches myself. I left this process really well equipped for subsequent roles and this gave me the confidence I needed early in my career.
Following this I have been on several seminars, I always keep an eye out for these as they contain so much gold! These challenge my thought processes and inevitably always an impact on my coaching process in some way. I find these particularly useful for their practical approach, which helps to transform some of the more complex theory, to easily applicable coaching knowledge."
Jourdain Benstead-Banthorpe
Subject Area Lead in S&C at Loughborough College, Consultant S&C Coach
"I’ve known Sean and have been coached by him for over 10 years. In that time, he has consistently laid groundwork for me to improve as a coach with thoughtful questioning, support, and presence.
This has been more technical when I first met Sean, but moved towards the philosophical and holistic. Sean is a fantastic educator and thinks about all sides, without judgement and with an open mind to explore and discover mechanisms or potential causes. This has enabled me to still undertake coaching accolades like the NSCA and UKSCA, and go on to challenge perceptions of ‘pure sports coaching’ which can be translated into many other sectors such as the corporate world, and how a coaching practice can look in all sports and age groups.
Having Sean as a close mentor has shaped my own coaching philosophy and practice to no end for the better, and I would not be in the positions or have the confidence I have now without his tutelage."
Josh Rivers
Performance Coach – Sport & Corporate
"Working with Working with Sean was a turning point in how I approached learning and applying new ideas. Sean’s ability to bridge theory and practice in a way that made concepts not only understandable, but immediately usable in real-world coaching. What could have been abstract or intimidating instead became engaging, relevant, and energising.
Sean provided great insight on topics such as plyometrics, agility and speed training, as well as performance monitoring. What stood out most was his ability to meet you where you were, without ever lowering the bar. He challenged me to think critically, explore different perspectives, and take ownership of my own development, while making the process genuinely enjoyable. His clarity, encouragement, and willingness to go beyond the curriculum made the learning experience one I still draw from today."
Aaron Bolton – Director and Head S&C Coach – Fit Performance Gym
"Sean has been an incredible mentor, helping me grow not only in technical coaching ideas but also in the softer skills such as communication, leadership, and building relationships. He has a very patient and supportive approach, and you can tell he genuinely invests in people to help them become the best coaches they can be.
I’ve taken a lot from Sean and applied it directly to my own coaching. His style makes learning both fun and effective, and he constantly introduces new and creative ways of implementing S&C in real-world settings. What stands out most is that while it’s one thing to be good at something yourself, it’s another to be able to share that knowledge in a way that helps others succeed—and Sean excels at this.
I’m very grateful for his mentorship, which has given me the confidence and foundation to make a strong start in my own S&C coaching career."
